The South Bay Has a Biryani Problem (And We Mapped the Entire Solution)
There is no single best biryani in Silicon Valley or the South Bay. The right kitchen depends on style: Hyderabadi dum, Andhra / Vijayawada gongura, Chettinad seeraga samba, and Kolkata-style biryani are different dishes. A 31 August 2026 desk-research sweep of 169 restaurants across 17 cities found the densest biryani-specialty cluster in Milpitas, the largest city list in San Jose (20 places), and one dedicated Kolkata-style kitchen: Bongo's in Fremont.
